Baptism is celebrated several times each year during Sunday worship. Baptism incorporates water as a physical testimony of God’s promises to us and our children. Baptism confirms God’s unconditional love, Christ’s redeeming sacrifice, and the Holy Spirit’s winsome witness in our hearts and minds that Jesus is Lord. It identifies those baptized as part of God’s family, and serves as an encouragement for them to one day make their public profession of faith in Jesus as Savior and Lord. THE LORD’S SUPPER
The Lord’s Supper, also referred to as Communion, is celebrated the first Sunday of each month during Sunday worship. It involves bread and wine as the spiritual presence of Christ’s body and blood, which were sacrificed for and because of our sins. All who have made their confession of faith in Jesus as Savior and Lord and are members of a church are welcome to celebrate Communion. Children are also welcome to celebrate Communion at the discretion of their parents, though the Board of Elders suggests children understand the importance of Communion.
