The winter session of Apples of Gold will meet Thursdays January 10 – February 21

  2. Cooking demonstrations and the sharing of a meal
  3. Encouragement to be the woman God created you to be

Join other women in the Apples of Gold nurturing program and you’ll be blessed as you grow together in your love for God, your family, and others. (Participant cost: $15.00 (includes book and recipe binder).  If needed, scholarships are available.)

If you would be interested in being part of an Apples of Gold group or if you have an interest in being a mentor contact Lori at 616.796.3361 or lorib@christmemorial.org.

Dance, Stand, Run – The God-Inspired Moves of a Woman on Holy Ground

Facilitator:  Cindy VanWyk

In this DVD-based Bible study, author Jess Connolly reminds us that grace is always good news. But have we forgotten about holiness? If you want to change the world and not be changed by it, you need the transformation of both.

Jess has lived in the tension between grace and holiness, just like you. In this study she’ll lead us through her discovery that holiness was never meant to be a shaming reminder of what we “should” be doing, but rather a profound privilege of being shaped into Christ-likeness so that we can join God’s mission of changing the world.

Dance, Stand, Run is an invitation to the modern Christian woman to step into the movements of abundant life: dancing in grace, standing firm in holiness, and running on mission. And the best news of all?  You already have everything you need.  As a daughter of God, He has already named you holy.  He has set you apart for His holy purposes, and He has more than equipped you for the job.  You can be a catalyst for good right where you are.

For anyone longing to make their mark with holy influence, Dance, Stand, Run will rally your strength, refresh your purpose, and energize your faith in a God who calls us to be like Him. For a preview of this study visit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3J_Mnb6MvE.

This study will include DVD presentations and small group discussions, along with lessons focusing on time spent with God.

Ruby’s Tuesday Morning WOW:

Traveling Mercies – Some Thoughts on Faith

Tuesday mornings (7:30 – 8:30 AM)
Begins September 11
Coordinator: Ruby Kickert
Meets in the Holland Hospital Café

Women are invited to join this study and discussion group as they begin the fall season reading Traveling Mercies by  Anne Lamott. Traveling Mercies is a chronicle of faith and spirituality that is at once tough, personal, affectionate, wise, and very funny Lamott’s faith isn’t about easy answers, which is part of what endears her to believers as well as nonbelievers. Against all odds, she came to believe in God and then, even more miraculously, in herself. As she puts it, “My coming to faith did not start with a leap but rather a series of staggers.” At once tough, personal, affectionate, wise, and very funny, Traveling Mercies tells in exuberant detail how Anne Lamott learned to shine the light of faith on the darkest part of ordinary life, exposing surprising pockets of meaning and hope.

AfterHours WOW:

The Magnificent Obsession – Embracing the God-Filled Life

Tuesday evenings (6:30 – 8:30 PM)
Begins September 18
Coordinator: Cindi Lampen
Room 160 / 161

Are you missing the Essential to a joyful, purpose-filled life?  Has your faith lost its fire…or even its meaningfulness?  Are you a good person, working hard, contributing to your community, yet find life is somehow incomplete and hollow at the core?  Are you restless in your spirit, with a nagging sense that there just has to be something more?  Author Anne Graham Lotz has known this struggle, too.  As she searched for answers to her heart’s yearning and emptiness, Abraham walked out of the pages of her Bible and into her life. Abraham’s life was full of twists and turns, riches and losses, deceit and redemption, failure and success.  Nevertheless, his story held the key to satisfying Anne’s hungry heart.  The key: embracing a God-filled life.  Step by step.  Choice by choice.  Day by day.  Despite struggling, as we all do, with compromise, fear, family, quarrels, doubt, and disappointment, in the end, Abraham knew God…as His friend.

Through personal anecdotes, unforgettable stories, and inspiring insights, in this DVD / book study Anne Graham Lotz will share with us the answers she found as she embraced the God-filled life.  Women are invited to join this close-knit prayer, study, and discussion group.

For more information or to sign up, contact Lori at 616.796.3361 or lorib@christmemorial.org.
