Opportunities for Women

Apples of Gold

Thursday evenings (6:00 – 9:00 PM)
Meets January 11 – February 22 (7 weeks)
Contact: Mary Deur
Meets off-site in a mentor’s home

Apples of Gold is more than a women’s Bible study.  As you meet weekly, mature women mentor younger married women through:

  1. Topical Bible studies based on Titus 2:3-5
  2. Cooking demonstrations and the sharing of a meal
  3. Encouragement to be the woman God created you to be

Join other women in the Apples of Gold nurturing program and you’ll be blessed as you grow together in your love for God, your family, and others. (Participant cost: $15.00 (includes book and recipe binder).  If needed, scholarships are available; contact Lori at lorib@christmemorial.org.)

Limited to 12 participants.

Women of the Word (WOW)

Ruby’s Tuesday Morning WOW

Tuesday mornings (7:30 – 8:30 AM)
Contact: Ruby Kickert
Meets in the Holland Hospital Café

This women’s small group is studying and discussing Tony Campolo’s book, Red Letter Christians. In this book, Campolo examines many of the hot-button issues facing evangelicals from the perspective of Jesus’ red-letter words in the Bible. No matter where you fall on the political spectrum, Campolo will make you think, pray and act.  Women are invited to join this on-going study and discussion group.

AfterHours WOW

Tuesday evenings (6:30 – 8:30 PM)
Begins January 9
Contact: Cindi Lampen
Room 160 / 161

During the winter session, this group will be studying Cynthia Heald’s book, Becoming a Woman of Prayer. Prayer is our response to God’s invitation.  So often we think of prayer as something we do to break through to God – to get His attention and to get Him to listen to us. But intimacy with God is His idea. He has taken the initiative, and prayer is His gift to us. It is an opportunity for us to respond to His invitation to intimacy by calling, crying, and singing to Him. Prayer is our response to the One who has called out to us and desires to be in a relationship with us.  Women are invited to join this prayer, study, and discussion group. (Book cost: $10.00.  If needed, scholarships are available; contact Lori at lorib@christmemorial.org.)

A huge side benefit to this class is the opportunity to bond with caring women all eager to connect and grow together.  (Workbook cost: $13.00.  If needed, scholarships are available; contact Lori at lorib@christmemorial.org.)

Jesus not only cares about the deep cry of your heart, the ache that seems to have a strangle hold, but also wants to step in and see you through it. Trade in those empty and depleted feelings for personal fulfillment from knowing who Jesus is. Train your heart to embrace the life giving freedom God wants for you. Discover how Jesus is the key to satisfaction by learning the significance of each of His I AM statements.  (Workbook cost: $15.00.  If needed, scholarships are available; contact Lori at lorib@christmemorial.org.)
