The REAL Lord’s Prayer

Sunday mornings (10:30 – 11:30 AM)
Meets January 7 – March 25  (12 sessions)
Teacher:  Tom Smith with guests
Room 168 / 169

The prayer we call The Lord’s Prayer is the prayer that Jesus taught His disciples to pray. The prayer Jesus really prayed is the High Priestly prayer of John 17.  What can we learn from the prayer of our Lord?  This will be an energetic, curious and faith-filled exploration of a beautiful and powerful passage.  Can we learn to pray like Jesus too?

Child Care is available for infants and toddlers and Children’s Ministry opportunities exist for children while parent or guardian attends this study.

The Story

Wednesday evening (6:00 – 7:30 PM)
This on-going study continues on January 10.
Facilitators:  Eleno & Leticia Torres
Room 164

This class takes a narrative approach to the whole of Scripture.  You will join a small group of people seeking to understand the big picture of God’s Word through reading, DVD presentations, and weekly discussions. The Story is an abridged, chronological Bible that reads like a novel. There are no verse references, and Scripture segments are seamlessly woven together with transition text into a single grand narrative.  Come discover God as He reveals Himself through His Word. (Book cost: $5.00; Study Guide cost: $8.00. If needed, scholarships are available. Contact Lori at lorib@christmemorial.org.)

Nothing has changed from the days of the Judges – people still do what is right in their own eyes. Absolutes are shoved aside and the result is bondage to sin. Only God’s truths and moral principles bring peace and freedom from bondage.
