The Story

Wednesday evening (6:00 – 7:30 PM)
Begins September 13
Facilitators:  Eleno & Leticia Torres
Room 164

This class takes a narrative approach to the whole of Scripture.  You will join a small group of people seeking to understand the big picture of God’s Word through reading, DVD presentations, and weekly discussions. The Story is an abridged, chronological Bible that reads like a novel. There are no verse references, and Scripture segments are seamlessly woven together with transition text into a single grand narrative.  Come discover God as He reveals Himself through His Word. (Book cost: $5.00. Study Guide cost: $8.00. If needed, scholarships are available. Contact Lori at lorib@christmemorial.org.)

Child Care is available for infants and toddlers and Children’s Ministry opportunities exist for children while parent or guardian attends this study.

Women are welcome to join this Bible study and discussion group. The study focus for the fall session will be on 1, 2 & 3 John. The letters of John were written in order to encourage followers of Jesus to remain faithful to the truth. Bring your Bible when you come as we dig deep and grow not only from the weekly reading, but also the lively discussion that often takes place.

Precepts – James: A Faith That’s Real

Thursday evening (6:45 – 9:00 PM)
Orientation / Book Distribution September 7 (this night only 6:00 – 7:00 PM)
Begins September 14 (10 sessions)
Teacher:  Rhonda Wiley
Room 166

What is true faith? How should you live the  Christian life? Each verse of this practical study of James is alive with instructions, admonition, and encouragement. Learn God’s principles for dealing with trials, temptations, the tongue, and the pull of the world.

Precepts uses an Inductive Study Method which is an investigative approach to the Bible using observation, interpretation, and application. Time spent observing Scripture to know what the Bible says and using sound principles of interpretation to understand what it means can result in a God-honoring and fulfilling life of Scripture application. (Workbook cost: $22.50.  If needed, scholarships are available. Contact Lori at lorib@christmemorial.org.)
